Summary:
Field trip of students learning about earthquake and tsunami related exhibits at the Hatfield Marine Science Center in Newport, Oregon. Students will practice drop, cover, and evacuation from the building at 10:17 am.


Full Description:
A total of 36 students from Toledo Elementary and Toledo Jr/Senior High School will be taking a field trip to the Hatfield Marine Science Center (HMSC) in Newport, Oregon. The students will be in groups rotating through 4 exhibits at HMSC to learn about earthquakes and tsunamis on the Oregon Coast. The students will spend 15 minutes learning at each exhibit. At 10 am the students will gather together and learn about what to do in the event of an earthquake. At 10:17 am the students will practice dropping, covering, and evacuating.
