Full Description:
Get ready to ShakeOut at OMSI! Learn about earthquake science and preparedness, with activities throughout the museum on Sat, Oct 15 from 10am-4pm. ShakeOut activities are included with general admission. Highlights include:
- Hands-on demos: Explore the science of seismic waves, structural engineering, and more with hands-on demos facilitated by OMSI educators and volunteers.
- Preparedness fair: Meet your local earthquake experts! Seismologists, engineers, preparedness experts, and volunteer emergency responders will be onsite to share info about how we can make the PNW more earthquake resilient.
- Participatory research activities: Help us make earthquake education even better! Visitors are invited to participate in prototype activities, including an earthquake simulation, to help us shape future earthquake programs and exhibits.
