OOPS, our security company forgot to tell the fire department it was only a drill!


After presenting and emergency preparedness meeting March 30th. On April 17th at 10:15 am our tenants took shelter under their desks for 1 minute then we sounded the fire alarms and they evacuated.  We had overwhelming participation!  Approximately 700 people or 40 of 45 companies participated. We Manage 4 buildings in the Union Park Center and evacuated all the buildings at the same time.

After I stopped, covered, and held on; I put on my CERT hat and vest and knocked on doors of the 16 homes I am responsible for as a Neighborhood Watch block captain.  Half of them answered alive and uninjured.  A few of those also stopped, covered, and held on.
