Stories From The Idaho ShakeOut

On October 17, at approximately 8:30 am I went on the PA and anounced a shelter in place drill was in effect. Staff immediately cleared the halls and locked their doors. The staff then practiced the drop, cover, and hold dirll. About 10 minutes later we upgraded the drill to a lockdown drill. Staff made sure the doors were locked and demonstrated how they would baracade the doors and what implement they would use to protect themselves and their students. about 10 Boise police officers then made their way around the campus unlocking doors and telling teachers they could return to teaching. When all doors were open an announcement was made to suspend the drill.
