This was a successful event. My classroom and the entire school participated. The students were mindful of the seriousness of the event. Students viewed several videos regarding safe earthquake drills. They also participated in the online game at shakeout.org. This was followed up with a poster coloring page with a brief message "Drop, cover and hold on."
