This all day exercise will demonstrate the response to a simulated local earthquake catastrophe with a large number of collapsed structures and people who are trapped, by the same L.A. County Fire Department USAR Team that responded to the Haiti earthquake catastrophe (2010), the New Zealand earthquake (2011), and the Japan earthquake and tsunami catastrophe (2011).
This is a mobilization exercise for California Urban Search and Rescue (USAR) Task Force 2, which is the same team that responded to the 2010 Haiti, Christchurch (New Zealand) and most recently the March 2011 Japan earthquake & tsunami. The simulation will include first responders, two specially trained USAR fire stations, & finally the 80-member CA-TF2) arriving in waves to respond to difficult & local catastrophic conditions. Actual live people will play the roles of trapped survivors.
