Full Description:
We are a private co-ed school in northwest Pasadena with a student body from preschool through junior high. There are about 430 students with about 65 staff members. We will begin our earthquake drill at 10:20am by listening to the downloaded mp3 from the website. Our teachers will follow our established earthquake procedures. At the conclusion of the 2 min. mp3 recording, teachers will find a personalized earthquake scenario in an envelope taped under their desk. We have six “search & rescue” teams. Each “search & rescue” team will encounter a unexpected situation to act upon. Students, parents and teachers will be involved in the simulation. Our First Aid station will be set-up and ready to administer aid to our earthquake “victims.” We will “simulate” dismissals of students to their parents using our procedures. Several areas on campus will be “unsafe” and marked with yellow caution tape for the teachers to avoid. Our simulation is scheduled for about one hour.
