Summary:
The 1800 Harrison Kaiser Building will be conducting a standard earthquake drill on 10/21. At 10:21am, an announcement will be made over the emergency PA system, that an earthquake is taking place and for all building occupants to immediately "duck, cover and hold" and remain in place while Building Emergency Response Team (BERT) members walk each floor to ensure maximum participation.
At approximately 3:30pm, we will be conducting a second earthquake drill, to prepare employees for aftershocks.
Full Description:
The 1800 Harrison Kaiser Building will be conducting a standard earthquake drill on 10/21. Emails and flyers have been sent out announcing the drill on Thursday and reminding the building occupants about the proper response procedures. At 10:21am on Thursday, an announcement will be made over the emergency PA system, that an earthquake is taking place and for all building occupants to immediately "duck, cover and hold." They are told to remain in place until the all clear is given, about 5 minutes. During this time, the Building Emergency Response Team (BERT) members walk each floor to ensure maximum participation and to critique the response.
