Full Description:
In collaboration with SF CARD, the Chinatown Disaster Preparedness Committee (CDPC) has designed a full-day disaster response exercise aimed to simulate the disaster management cycle (initial 24 hours; 24 - 72 hours; and 72 hours + beyond).



Session 1A: (Required) Initial 24 hours following disaster Time: 10:21am – 11:00am
Location: In your agency

• Practice Duck, Cover & Hold, Agency Evacuation, Status Update, Plan for Future Drills.

Session 1B: (Optional) Time: 11:00am – 11:30am
Location: In your agency

• For Agencies unable to participate in Session 1A and others who are interested

• Communications Drill:

- Inter-Clinic (Chinese Hospital-NEMS-Chinatown Public Health Center) via 800 mhz radios

- Inter-CBO (Portsmouth – CBOs; CBOs – CBOs) via FRS Radios

- Intra-CBO (within On Lok’s building, etc.) via CB Radios



Session 2: (Optional) 24 – 72 hours post disaster 12:00PM – 2:00PM

Location: Portsmouth Square

• Agencies who opt to participate in Session 2 will self-activate at Portsmouth

• Cathay Amateur Radio Club volunteers will set up HAM radio and establish communication with EOC (Connie)

• ICS Tabletop exercise



Session 3: (Optional) 72 hours and beyond 2:00pm – 4:00 pm

Location: Portsmouth Square

• Exercise to test out Bay Area Coordinated Assistance Network (CAN) – Bay Area CAN Members ONLY. \

• An information exchange including a brief overview of Bay Area CAN will be discussed (only 45 minutes). Please note that there will be an opportunity to register for Bay Area CAN at this event.
