The Tech Museum in San Jose is doing a series of earthquake events and activities leading up to the ShakeOut from October 18–24, 2010.


Full Description:
October 21, 2010 is the Great California Shake Out Drill 10/21 at 10:21, the largest earthquake drill in the United States. Last year, The Great California ShakeOut had over 6.9 million participants! Join the Red Cross, USGS, San Jose Fire, and the Shake Cottage. Come find out who will be joining us this year for the largest earthquake drill in U.S. history!



Join us for Mission: Secure your Space in our life sizes preparedness room, learn about what you need in your earthquake preparedness kit, learn science and engineering with our lab, Engineering for Earthquakes (reservation required), and experience an earthquake on our simulator in the Exploration Gallery! See the brand new USGS maps of earthquake country. (United States Geological Survey)



Ride the Quake Cottage on Thursday (drill day) 10/21, Saturday 10/23, and Sunday 10/24 from noon to 5:00 p.m.
