Summary:
The La Mirada Disaster Preparedness Steering Committee, an emergency preparedness network comprised of representatives from City of La Mirada, Los Angeles County Fire and Sheriff’s Departments, American Red Cross, Norwalk-La Mirada Unified School District, community organizations and local businesses, is scheduled to host its Community Disaster Exercise in conjunction with The Great California ShakeOut earthquake preparedness drill, Thu., Oct. 17, 2013 (9-11 a.m.).


Full Description:
The La Mirada Disaster Preparedness Steering Committee, an emergency preparedness network comprised of representatives from City of La Mirada, Los Angeles County Fire and Sheriff’s Departments, American Red Cross, Norwalk-La Mirada Unified School District, community organizations and local businesses, is scheduled to host its Community Disaster Exercise in conjunction with The Great California ShakeOut earthquake preparedness drill, Thu., Oct. 17, 2013 (9-11 a.m.).

The exercise is being held in two locations: City of La Mirada Emergency Operations Center (EOC) and La Mirada Landmark. Also, the La Mirada exercise will feature moulage victims that will be positioned in various locations where the exercise is taking place (make-up sessions begin at 7 a.m.); Community Emergency Response Team (CERT), HAM Radio operators, Los Angeles County Fire and Sheriff’s Departments will also be participating in the exercise; and there will be a simulated activation of the City of La Mirada’s EOC.
